The Conservative Party Lying? In Election Communications? Again?

I saw a vague claim in the Conservative 2022 Local Council Election leaflet that the candidate for my ward in Aldershot "will oppose The Labour Party's £300,000 cut to your local services" and it made me curious.

I asked a local councillor to elaborate r.e. the details on Twitter and he stated it referred to Labour's opposition to an increased council budget.

The Tories are in control of Rushmoor Council - thus Labour's opposition to an increased budget doesn't mean Labour are cutting any budgets (nor can they) - thus the statement on the leaflet is a lie. And they have form for this:

An 2019 investigation found ‘88% of Tory ads (during a period of the last General Election campaign) misleading compared to 0% for Labour.
